Join multi-fiction author Jay A. Harris in rediscovering the most imaginative form of entertainment—the written story.  From love to fantasy to mystery, Jay's stories take content-driven fiction to the next level.

It was all smiles when Jay A. Harris received his first Atlanta Writers' Conference Best Manuscript Award in 2018 from New York based One World Publishing, a Penguin Random House imprint.  Jay went on to receive two more AWC awards that year for currently unreleased works.  Jay was quoted as saying, "This is my first recognition for (creative) writing since high school!"

In late 2022, Jay's vampire thriller, "The Case of a Night Detective," rose up Amazon's charts and became a Bestseller in the category of African American Horror. Having only been marketed for a few months prior, Jay remains humbled.

Christine and Jacqueline of Amazon were present to enjoy the festivities.

Excited to pose with 22-time author and celebrity interviewer, Dr. Rhonda M. Lawson.  In my hands is her latest great novella, "Trust."

Gwen Richardson (r), the queen responsible for it all, poses with media correspondent, Dr. Rhonda Lawson (l).

Tables galore at the Fallbrook Church gymnasium.

The multi-talented Karyn Parsons takes her acting expertise into her debut novel, "How High the Moon," to create an array of genuine characters in the Jim Crowe south.  I loved it!  After attending 2021's virtual festival, Karyn was kind enough to return this year to meet everyone face-to-face.

What can I say about this brother?  Even if he wasn't an R&B sensation, just like his book, "Unbothered; The Power of Choosing Joy," Omarion would radiate joy into any room he emerges.  His book is a must read for men and women of all ages.

A pleasure meeting and speaking with CNN correspondent, Atty. Bakari Sellers.  His latest memoir, "My Vanishing Country," sold out quickly at the festival, but I promised him I would order a copy as soon as the festival ended.  Done!

The 2022 National Black Book Festival went live this year for the first time since the pandemic, and it was phenomenal!  Authors converged on Houston, Texas from all over the country, connecting with both readers and fellow writers for a great time.  Here's how it went down:

In 2019, Jay was selected as a national finalist for the Hidden River Arts William Van Wert Award for Fiction.  Although not a first place winner, the honor provided a source of encouragement to help Jay continue delivering memorable fiction.
